A long time ago in the ancient times, a group of people noticed a star that behaved quite differently then the others. This star followed the sun as it rose and set each day. Later on ancient Greeks and other civilizations recognized that the thing they thought was a star was actually a planet. This planet moved more quickly than all the others.Eventually, In the early 1600s, Mercury was discovered but unfortunately no one knows who discovered the planet but we do know what group of people discovered it. Scientist have studied Mercury's age as well and they believe that mercury is about 4.503 billion years old.
