Medical marijuana has been proven to help with many chronic illnesses and diseases. To start, according to the Drug Policy Alliance, marijuana has shown to treat symptoms of conditions, including cancer, HIV/AIDS, multiple sclerosis, alzheimer's disease, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), epilepsy, crohn disease, and glaucoma, and is often an effective alternative to narcotic to painkillers (n.pag). All of the conditions listed above have terrible symptoms, and medical marijuana is a better alternative than narcotics because medical marijuana has less long-term conditions and is creepier than most narcotics. The longer patients live with diseases the more the symptoms get worse. Cannabis have shown multiple times that it is the easier and cheaper way to feel better and to assist many chronic illnesses. Lastly, most diseases affect the patient's life, how they act, how they feel day to day, and more. In the article “Marijuana Has Been Proven to Effectively Treat Many Medical Conditions” it states that “Cannabis provides both analgesia and anti-inflammatory relief for autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, complex sympathetic dystrophy and restless leg syndrome” (Bearman, David 4). To begin, David Bearman writes in “Marijuana Has Been Proven to Effectively Treat Many Medical Conditions” When you have panic attack there are a lot negative thoughts that are being sent to your brain, the brain gets overwhelmed, with the help of cannabis, the body slows down the negative thoughts so the brain doesn't get overwhelmed and cause a panic attack. (6). When most people have panic attacks they shut down and don’t want to do anything. Medical marijuana would help tons of people be less overwhelmed and more motivated to do more things during the day. Mental health paints suffer day to day from depression, panic attacks, OCD, and much more. Also, most people can’t tell that there family members, friends, and people they see everyday at school are suffering because you can't see those with mental health problems.
