Kysha Lewin is sixteen and a half years old, and she is studying at Red Bank Regional High School in Little Silver, New Jersey. She found her first job at McDonald’s and worked at this busy fast-food environment. Her intention is to help her mother to take care of the family bills, and she was hired by the manager. Kysha must learn multioperation works that McDonald's crew members work at the front counter helping customers through the ordering process and take care of the everything by stocking foods and cleaning facilities. At first, she started to work only as a one-week temp job. After one week, she turned into four months and was hired permanently there. However, she laid off due to downsizing of the finance business environment. After laid off, she filed an unemployment and “workfare,” which it’s a government sponsored program that is called work experience program. It’s a two-week training program that you must be a class every day from 9 to three o’clock, and every people in that class are all for their welfare checks. In this session, she must explain how she lost her job, mock job applications, and pretending to interview for a job. I think this is a good class to practice and encourage people to go outside to find a job. However, Sandra has a bad luck to find her job to go into a workfare, and it’s not a job training anymore. She must work for her welfare check, and she thought it’s a miserable experience in her life that she must work as a street cleaner. She’s crying because they treat her so poorly. She must go to the street and sweep the street with brooms and shovels and garbage cans, and this job is very hazardous to people’s health. I think she will find her dream job soon, and it’s only a job seeking experience for her. I don’t think I will go to workfare for my welfare checks, and I will go to take classes at a local college instead. I believe that every people have a chance to pursue their
