In a recent Ted Talk by Martin Seligman, a psychologist who discusses his finding of positive psychology. In the past psychology used the disease model, focused on the problems not necessarily the one living it. The disease model had its benefits and downsides though. The downsides led to the discovery of Positive psychology becoming concerned with making the lives of “normal” people fulfilling with nurturing high talents, replacing weakness with strength.
