I found this interesting being that since the museum is called the Leslie Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art, there would be an equal representation of both the gay and the lesbian perspective. Additionally, I learned that there truly is a divide in the different groups of sexualities. When the curator read the letter that one of the donors sent expressing his disappointment in the expansion of lesbian art, I was both confused and irritated at his reasoning. It is mind boggling to think that individuals believe that gay representation is any more important than lesbian representation. One would think that the gay community should help empower the lesbian movement, considering both groups are fighting for same sex
