African American Fragment
This poem bring about the problem of these African American being taken from their mother land .why did they have to be taken out of their territory just to be treated unequal? The only history they have to remember was the songs. But then they were forced to speak English so the songs weren’t the same .They were forced to speak a language they didn’t know well. So I felt that kind of made these people look stupid because they didn’t know much about the English language. As I was reading I could feel the hurt of someone being taking from their home and being placed into a place they didn’t belong. The poet realized he was black and his dream would never be fulfilled of equality .The quote “Rose until it was towards the sky” meaning the wall was a barrier between his dream and it got so high that his dream was never able to be fulfilled.
