In Act 1, Scene 5 of the play, Lady Macbeth is shown delivering a monologue where she says, “…Of direst cruelty. Make thick my blood. Stop up the access and passage to remorse.” This monologue depicts Lady Macbeth’s aggression as she rids all compassionate thoughts to continue her plan of killing King Duncan. Throughout Acts one to five, Lady Macbeth proves to be the most aggressive and ruthless character of the play. Her hateful attitude drifts over to her husband Macbeth, who claims to have learned hostility from her. As I read the play and analyzed Lady Macbeth as a character, I realized that I am a very aggressive person who at times becomes hostile.
