During my first semester in LBCC I had a night class. I would get off around 9:50 or sometimes we would get out a few minutes early. It got dark fast and there were a few times where the thought “maybe I’m being watched because some of these faces look familiar and I’m not as aware as I should be” would pop in my head. However, I would try my best not to think of it that way. On a weekly basis 3/5 days, someone would try get my attention, I was always polite and people would just ask for lighters or ask to use my phone and on rare creepy occasions people would invite me places. Being polite always kept me calm and made me feel like I was aware of what was going on, …show more content…
I didn’t move and I didn’t flinch. I took off my earphones and looked at her thinking if I should tell her something and what to say…all this time she was just bad mouthing me and threatening me. I didn’t want to be rude or start something but I had to say something to me she looked pretty aware of what she was doing. I told her to be careful because the next person possibly wouldn’t take so lightly being stepped to and I proceeded to walk away and wait for the train somewhere else I think she couldn’t believe I told her anything. I’ve got to admit I felt pretty nervous turning my back towards her and walking away. There was another time when a man asked me for directions which I helped him with. I didn’t get a creepy vibe until he started getting super close and lowering his voice, It was then I smelled he was intoxicated. The next thing I know I bid farewell and was on the train and made sure I was not getting followed. The next night I thought I saw him on my exit so the following day I asked my mom for a ride. And then I never saw him again. Now I don’t take night classes sadly and when I go out if I take the metro I don’t go alone at

Born on March 26, 1874, to William Prescott Frost Jr. and Isabelle Modie Frost, Robert Frost lived in San Francisco for the first eleven years of his life. At the beginning of my final year of high school, a significant educational opportunity was introduced to me: a political science class was being offered at my high school by Merced College. I was very excited to find out about this course because of my plans to major in political science and eventually find a career in the politics. Of all possible subjects, I was very lucky to have this college course offered at my small school that otherwise would not offer opportunities like this. I had absolutely no doubts about taking the class. The course started on the night of the first day of school, and I was overwhelmed with the workload that was presented in the first class.…

It feels like so long ago when I first began this English course. I can remember being so excited about the class topic, racism and social justice, which I felt that I had a lot of passion for. Little did I know that I would have to gather up even more enthusiasm and passion to be able to continue writing papers about the same topic all semester long. This course has tested my endurance, and at many times my patience, and for that I am thankful because I know in the end, it has made me a better writer. Despite various minor challenges this semester I believe that I have put in the hard work that it takes and I have achieved the course goals and will complete this class feeling fulfilled and accomplished.…

For many years’ authors have been writing dystopian texts to alert us about what could potentially happen to our world if we allow certain progressions to continue. This dystopian text discusses how the government decides whether individuals live or die in the form of an examination to test one’s intelligence. The short story ‘Examination Day’ has affected my understanding of the negative impacts an overpowering government can have on a society through the use of specific time and place in which the text is set. Through the tone and mood that is demonstrated throughout the text which is established by the setting of the narrative, the impacts and effects of an overpowering government on a society is clearly evident to the readers. With these conventions, it accommodates a greater understanding for me as the reader to fuller apprehend the outcomes power and control a government can really have.…
