During the government of King Leopold, New Imperialism occurred when King Leopold II was looking for colony that Belgium could occupy overseas, King Leopold wanted to make the Congo a modernized colony like Europe’s most modernized colonies like The Dutch, Spain, French and Britain, who were colonizing and taking control over top colonies all around the world which in turn gives them more power and makes them richer.
