Israel is the only country in Middle East who is very independent in terms of religion. In fact, it is the world’s only Jewish state and was re-established in 1948 as historic and modern home of Jewish people. They are free to exercise their law, faith and practices. They have their own courts and religious council in which it is recognized by law including personal statuses such as marriage and divorce. Each religion has different traditional rituals, unique worship places and architectural features which was developed over centuries. The religion of majority in Israel is Judaism and during the year of 2005, according to Central Bureau of Statistics, there was a total of 76.1% of Jewish population, 2.1% Christian, 16.2% Muslim, 1.6% Druze, with the 3.9% remaining population who is not classified by religion.

In which, its beliefs, tradition and traditions were recorded in their sacred text, Hebrew Bible. They believe in only one God and that He is unique, eternal and incorporeal. Prayer must be directed to God only and not to anyone, resurrection of dead, rewarding the good and punishing the wicked, no other Torah (first five books in the Bible given to Moses), thoughts and deeds of men are known by God, are also some of their beliefs. Jews believe that they are appointed and chosen people of God for them to set example of ethical behaviour and holiness to the world. They mainly focus on the relationship between God and mankind.
There are three main branches of Judaism, Orthodox; Conservative; and Reform in which each of it has different approaches in religious life.
