In the book of Ruth we gather how God uses things like death and friendship to fulfill His divine plan. Ruth is left all alone with her mother-in-law Naomi, with whom see forms a strong bond with in ch 1. Because of this relationship, Ruth figures out that she have financial stability by working in the field for a relative that Naomi mentioned. Ruth then catches the attention of Boaz (the land owner) in chapter 2. Boaz then decides to marry Ruth in ch. 4. This is important because Boaz then becomes the great-grandfather of King David. You see that God even used the death of Ruth's first husband as a means to follow through with His plan. The way that God works not only through the big things like conquering countries, but also small things like friendship, was not only true for an Israelites life in this era, but is true for all believers
