As Jane shows to be an independent woman that tries to succeed in life without really knowing if she will succeed. Now that I have began a new chapter of my own I can relate with Jane that transitioning from one environment to another can be very intimidating. However, I try to use the knowledge I have learned over the years to help me in college. I know that I am exposed to new obstacles everyday and just like Jane I can choose to be a strong independent woman and learn from those obstacles or to accept failure and remain as is. I also learned that your will shall define your destiny meaning that regardless of your past and your background it depends on how much you are willing to do to achieve your goals. Just like Jane as a young girl who was mistreated repeatedly and was made to feel inferior did not let this affect her future. What I learned from this book is the importance of speaking your mind. She shows to have a strong character that is willing to confront her challenges such as her aunt and Rochester. Voicing her opinion allowed her to free her feelings from any resentment and prevented others to do something that she did not approve of.
