Students that come from various backgrounds might have a hard time adapting to new study habits. Therefore, it is our jobs as current and future educators to help smoothen this process to them. According to the InTASC standard it was mentioned that “all effective teachers have very high anticipation for each and every learner and implement developmentally appropriate” (2011, p. 8). According to Henson (2009) the article reviews how professors used the InTASC standards with their classroom activities and found it useful. For Learner Development Professor Varner did an activity where it increased student performance. For this activity she corrected the students test, if they had any wrong answers she would have then find the correct answer and resubmit the test back to her. She would have them submit the correct answer, the page number where they found it, and an explanation of why that is the correct answer (Henson, 2009, p. 34). After she would give the student some type of credit for the answer. Varner mentioned that this activity moved her closer to her goal that everyone knew and understand the material (Henson, 2009, p. 35). This is effective due to the fact that it helps the student increase their performance for future work and test. Something else that was learned from the standards is the Instructional Practice. This is essential due to the fact that educators must connect concepts to make it engage able for the students. This is seen every day in classroom setting. If the teacher is not able to engage the students with the lesson, the student will have a hard time remembering the lesson. There can even be a lack of participation in the lesson because students are
