Carol W. Greider is a female scientist that is married to Nathaniel C. Comfort, he is a fellow academic, in 1992. She has two children and is also she was divorced, before carol children were born she competed in triathlons and she still bikes and runs and swims for physical fitness. Carol was born in San Diego on April 15, 1961, her father is Kenneth Grieder he was a physic professor. Her family moved from San Diego to Davis California. Carol is dyslexic and states that her compensatory skills also played a role in her success as a scientist because one has to intuit many different things that are going on the same time and imply those to a particular problem.

Carol W. Grieder had been the first one to discover a scientific enzyme which is called telomerase, that is a thing that prevent the genes within the chromosomes from degrading. But like treads on a tire, they gradually wear away throughout life, it eventually exposing the genes to damage. Grieder she seem like a very smart and sweet kind of person also seems very determind to help people with her discovery of the telomerase which is a very great discovery that will help millions of people when they have that one thing they need to make it perfect. The thing that surprised me the most is that she is so smart and had done this even with her having dyslexia which is a disease that makes it really hard for people to read and write like other people but she had out smarted us all and i think that is incredible . Carol Grieder is a good person to look up to she is a very very amazing women and i know she will figure that one thing she needs to make it all go her way with the
