In addition to assessing a student’s reading level, the informal reading inventory also measures a student’s fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, and oral reading accuracy. I didn’t have the opportunity to talk to either of his parents but he said he liked to read. We went through the same process as I did for the first student. This student also scored a 58% on his concept questions. When reading the passage the student did very well, only having a self-correction miscue. Since he only had one miss on his accuracy the student would be classified as an independent reader. On the comprehension section of the assessment the student missed on question, placing him under the instructional level for comprehension. In summary, this student is also at an instructional level for reading at this
