With a system of checks and balances, none of these three branches of government can have more power than the other two. The media is often watching the every moves of each of these branches of government and is sometimes considered as the fourth branch of government just because of the impact the media has on how we view what the legislative, executive and judicial branches are doing. Throughout the world, a lot of people refer to media as a fourth form of government because many people would know little to nothing about what is going on in the world if it wasn’t for the mass media. We allow for the media to shape how we feel about what our government, or other countries governments, are doing; with no questions asked. The media has become such an influential part of our government that it has become known as the fourth branch of government. Obviously, with that much power, it’s a proper representation of the media in our world today. Even though it’s a good representation of the media, allowing so much influence, for the media, on how we see what is happening around the world, is simply scary. Throughout the development of the media, citizens have quickly lost all of their own beliefs and have gone with beliefs that people are putting in their heads. In cases like the Michael Brown case, the media has had an extremely influential effect on how we view all three branches of government, especially the judicial branch, in the mist of the grand jury’s final verdict. Michael Brown’s case isn’t the only case that has been effected by the media, and is surely not the most effective case
