The quote given by Helen Keller talks everything about teamwork in just one sentence. What is teamwork? Teamwork can be defined as an ability to work with the team members together in order to achieve a particular goal. Each individual contributes to the team which ultimately helps in the success of a common goal. In today’s busy world team effort plays a vital role in the success of any organization. Without the contribution of an individual in a group it is impossible to achieve the desired goal. It is important for a team member in the team to the effort knows what the result should be. Each person is important in the given task. An individual can contribute by looking for ways and should be always willing to collaborate. Recognize and work with interdependencies between you and the others involved in the team work. An individual should always update other team members on the progress on his/her work and communicate each and every results effectively. Healthy competition in the above context means to strengthen the team and to utilize the potential of every member in a team to the maximum extent. It can also mean that every member in the team should try and put more effort than the others and finally contribute as a whole to the success of the team itself. This competitiveness between the team members will help keep the team spirit alive. A lot of organizations follow appreciation techniques like performance appraisal methods to help understand the members about themselves and their efficiency. This will make all the members to work harder to achieve appreciation and best team member tag which ultimately contributes to the team
