In most schools around the country, middle schoolers don't have recess when they should. Studies say that as many as 40 percent of schools nationwide have cut recess. Middle schoolers should have recess because it helps kids develop socially lets kids get their exercise and it can be beneficial for learning.

Recess can help kids develop socially where they otherwise would have not been able to. Socializing is important for kids so it's not new later in life.Middle school kids are learning to socialize when their young. They need to try out various roles, and recess is a safe environment("Education World"). This helps kids learn to socialize safely and learn it when their young. Also recess helps kids learn how to make and follow fair rules.”With recess, children have choices and can organize their own games, figure out what's fair, and learn a lot of social behavior

("Education World").This is important to notice because without a break kids won't have time to think of what they learn before moving on.Recess time can also be productive.Kids can even use resses to be productive by visiting teachers for help or even getting books from the library ("Education World").The part of this that seems especially important is that if a kid is behind they can privately talk to the teacher.There is even research that shows that recess is beneficial.There are lots of research that show recess is beneficial. Some of the reasons are: Are less fidgety and more on task.Have improved memory and more focused attention.Develop more brain connections.Learn negotiation skills.
