This literature review will include three parts of the content.The first one is the development situation and tendency of logistics in e-commerce enterprises.The second one will talk about logistic modes selection in e-commerce enterprises.The last one will talk about self-run logistics mode.
Firstly,e-commerce has accomplished a rapid development in recent years. Any deal in e-commerce includes four parts: business flow, fund flow, information flow and logistics. The most special part is logistics, which refers to the flow process of products, that is the process of transportation, storage, loading and unloading, delivery and logistics information management. E-commerce must achieve the perfect fit with modern logistics, then it can be called real e-commerce. Therefore, It is very important for an enterprise to choose the logistic mode that is fit for its own characteristics, a suitable logistic mode can help an enterprise achieve three goals of logistics strategy: reducing cost, saving capital, Improving service.
According to the form of enterprise external logistics, there are three basic logistics modes: self-run logistics, third-party logistics and logistics alliance, the last two modes are logistics outsourcing businesses (Xu, 2012). All logistics modes have advantages and disadvantages according to the logistics environment, enterprises should choose suitable mode based on own demand.
In China, most e-commerce enterprises choose to cooperate with third-party logistics enterprises, nowadays, logistics industry of China is growing fast, however, it still cannot catch up with the size of e-commerce growth, with the crazy promotion of many websites, logistics cannot fit for e-commerce. Self–run logistics Increases the opportunity to communicate with customers directly, provide convenient for the enterprise market investigation, and effectively achieve the development of e-commerce logistics financial services. Self –run logistics can save cost, self-run logistics of an enterprise has a strong control ability to control each link in the supply chain, it can help the other parts of the enterprise cooperate closely, and make the logistics and capital flow, information flow more closely integrated, so as to greatly improve the work efficiency of logistics operation and even whole operation. Self-run logistics can improve the user experience, with more and more transparent online price, it can better retain customers to have a higher user experience.
