When I play sports I am never afraid to go after a loose ball I'm not afraid to go to the ground and put my body on the line. I always have the courage to go in after a fifty fifty balls i've gotten many bruises and even some injuries. My goal is always to get the ball because I know if I do it will impress my coaches and it will get my team fired up showing that I’m willing to risk my body for them and for the sake of the team. The sport I find this easiest to do in for me is basketball even if I'm playing on hard wood it doesn't scare me I’ve done this since I started the sport. Just last week on the eighth of January I did this and it helped my team in a big way. These games also came just two weeks after I had a shoulder injury from fighting …show more content…
Hyde was also not the best rebounding team so I was able to get many rebounds off of them this helped the team in a big way because we would gain extra possessions and we would get the ball back. I began to go harder in for rebounds even if the other team had the ball I would try to get myself wrapped in with the ball so that the other man would have to fight me for it. At one point I had grabbed a rebound a second after the other team and was trying to rip the ball from the man but he wouldn't let go. I eventually ended up being put onto the ground with the ball but never backed down off of my man. I held on to the ball until the very end, the refs we had would never call jump balls so my team had to call a timeout. After the timeout I had finally gained possession of the ball even after being on the ground. This play had gotten my defender so upset that he decided the best course of action for him was a begin to scream and yell at me then slap me square in the chest. The refs saw this foul and gave him a technical foul this got me team fired up because we made both of our free throws and had tied the game after this foul we never looked back and kept charging towards the

Another factor that tied into this was that I never got a true opportunity to really show how I can could play and help the team. The last factor that tied into this was that I wasn’t part of the clique of players that always played and hung out with each other. All these factors affected my love for the game of basketball and I knew I had to do something, so I did. I have always been somewhat of a nervous person, especially at the start of something like meeting new people or the beginning of a…

During the three nights of tryouts, I was always the first one to finish the sprints, I hustled on every play, and left everything I had on the court. Confident in the way I played, I checked the results when they came out–I had been cut for the second year in a row. My heart dropped and millions of thoughts ran through my mind–I should stop playing basketball, I wasted all my time on something useless, hard work does not pay off. After pondering on these thoughts for several days, I decided to rededicate myself to the sport; I found a more competitive AAU team to play for, IYB Basketball and Wayne PAL Wolfpack, and found myself a trainer. Everyday after finishing my schoolwork, I either went to the gym to lift and play basketball or went to an AAU practice or game.…

In a defensive position, I would have to relearn my skills with a stick that is twice as big and learn new strategies and techniques. In that position, I had to hit the reset button on almost everything that I had been doing before. My desire to play and my new willingness to work, however, overrode my fear of failure. I took my 100% and made it into 120%, spending hours every afternoon after school perfecting my footwork and throwing a ball against the…

The most recent college sporting event I have attended is the 2017 PAC 12 Men’s Basketball Tournament, which is the annual concluding tournament for the NCAA college basketball in the PAC 12 Conference. The dates for this four day tournament were March 8-11, 2017, the times varied for different sessions and rounds with the earliest game starting at 12pm PT and the latest game starting at 8:30pm PT. The first round and quarterfinal round both consisted of four games each, while the semifinal round had two games and the final round of course one game. This event was hosted at the brand new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The target audience I believe were college basketball fans, especially fans of the PAC 12 conference.…

In the brilliant film, Love and Basketball directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood she combines a sport genre with a drama. The movie follows two people that share a very similar strong passion for basketball. It begins when they’re kids after a girl who is played by co-lead actor “Sanaa Lathan” moves into the neighborhood of a young star played by co-lead actor “Omar Epps”. Their mutual passion for basketball is evident from the start.
