Jeremy Seabrook writes in his article, “Songs of the Shirt” that, “ The workers are disposable, rags of humanity as it were used up like any other raw material in cause of production for export” (Seabrook 2013 par.6). Seabrook’s words illustrate how these proletarians are exploited, worked day and night so the elites could have the luxuries that they simply do not. The cheap labour also reflects on the mercantile system that robs the developing nations of having a better quality of life. Furthermore, countries in devastating poverty are more focused on survival rather than their education system. This creates a weak education system and robs the intellectuals of any opportunities to showcase their potential. This leads to the ‘Brain Drain’ from many LDCs to the core countries especially people from the STEM careers. According to George Robb, author of “White Collar Crime in Modern England” that corruption thrives best on a well-developed economy which the elites promoted when they took over (Mulinge and Leseledi 1998 p.17) . Audrey Richard, the author of “East African Chiefs” then write that the elites introduced monetary taxes that were collected by new elected chiefs who were offered 10 percent of the hard earned tax by their own people (Mulinge and Leseledi 1998 p.18). This allowed corruption to flourish from the gardens colonialsim grew. Moreover, conclusions have been made about the link between corruption and exploitation of resources in developing countries. The Transparency International Agency explain in their article “Oil and Gas”, the reason the poorest countries are the ones with rich oil and gas is corruption, “ Too often wealth status in the hands of politicians… payments made to governments to exploit resources remain secret” (Oil and Gas 2015 par.2). The corrupt government are the very source for the failure of thee countries to modernize and become independent. Additionally, a corrupt government leads to social oppression and deficiency of opportunities for the people to better the country. Daron Acemoglu and James Robinson express in their book “ Why Nations Fail” that, “The
