As of last night at 3:44 a.m., I, Isaac Schroeck, have concluded the interview and examined the applicant by the name of John Smith. Three months ago he applied for the position of “wall watcher”, and yesterday at 3:43 a.m. I contacted him and requested for him to come in and convene.
Based on the interaction that I had with Mr. John Smith I believe that he will not be a good fit for our company. The position of wall watcher is a very mundane and droll occupation and Mr. Smith is a very energetic, social, and willful soul. I would compare Mr. John Smith to that of an entertainer1. John Smith, and a registered employee like myself for example, is that of work ethic and personality. For instance, I being employed as Assistant Director of Human Resources, is a fitting employment because I have the personality trait of that of an executive or a manager. I lead by example, establishing allegiance and purposeful integrity, and an absolute rejection of lethargy and cheating, especially in the workplace4.
One could define my personality by the lettering “ESTJ”4. “ESTJ’s are classic images of the model citizen: they help their neighbors, uphold the law, and try to make sure that everyone participates in the communities and organizations they hold so dear”4. However, people may misinterpret my integrity as inflexibility or exclusivity but in actuality, I am just producing order and setting things right5. Personally, what makes a job work for me, is order and an open workplace where my subordinates collaborate and respect one another, and where my word and orders are followed for the fact that I go by the book and the book …show more content…
John Smith should work for Imagination Incorporated. He would make for a severe liability and hindrance in the everyday productivity within our company. The application process with the applicant has been an immeasurable waste of company time and resources. Had it not had been for my secretary’s desk reorganization she would have never found the lost application, and the interview would have never happened. On that note, I suggest a hiring process for a new secretary. Regardless, due to the fact that our company, Imagination Incorporated, makes over 13.6 billion dollars per day, I suggest we continue the search and add a hiring incentive for a qualified applicant.
Due to the nature of the position, we should employ a candidate with a more introverted nature so as to protect employees nearest from distraction. Also, the applicant should have a more relaxed and quiet personality whereas sitting in front of a wall and watching it could suffice them and therefore keep them alert. Mr. Smith is not a suitable fit for the position. He is too social and hyper for the position at hand. A proper applicant should be able to sit still for more than a few minutes at a
