The year 2007 is the year that I turned seven years old, and during this part of my life, I was a part of two stages of development in both Piaget’s and Erikson’s which are Concrete Operational and Industry Vs. Inferiority. The Concrete Operational stage is Piaget Third stage of Cognitive Development and it begins from seven to twelve years old. “(kids) can perform concrete operations and can reason logically as applied to specific or concrete examples” (Mendez, 2018, Chapter 7.1). Erikson’s describe this stage as a person who is childhood security and adult autonomy (Mendez, 2018 Chapter 10.1). The stage has one main characteristic in a person’s life, which is an identity crisis. Identity crisis is not bad as it sounds, so it generally refers to when an adolescent is exploring many different paths for a career. When a person is in an identity crisis there are categories in identity which are Identity Diffusion (where a person has made no effort to explore their options), Identity Foreclosure (where a person decides what they want to do but has no experiences), Identity Moratorium (where a person gains experience on different path but has not yet committed to one), and Identity Achievement (where a person has gain experiences and has committed to a career path). The identity crisis is not limited toward a person’s career, it also takes account of a person’s self-identity such, spiritual beliefs, relationship status, cultural/ethnic identity, and many more. For me I am a Mexican-American that was born in the United States, my current spiritual beliefs are nothing since I am atheist, and my current relationship status is single. In this stage, it is important for an individual to have some sense of who they are, because if that person has no idea about themselves they enter a state of confusion that can lead to isolation from friends and family, or they immerse them with other people, but they lose their identity in the
