jekyll submits to the fact the only way to end this monstrous spree is to terminate Mr. hyde, and the only way of accomplishing that is by eliminating Dr. jekyll. So in coming to this conclusion he knows he must act upon it soon, or Mr. hyde will take over and destroy everything if not more of what the doctor had come to achieve and leave only the reminisce of a once brave and outstanding mind diluted by a devilish replacement fueled by only the filth that resides within the human consciousness.
