Introduction- Indian Hotel Industry
The Indian hotels and motels industry has declined in 2013 but the industry is expected to accelerate back to growth in 2014 with double digit growth rate through the period 2014-2018. The industry has CAGR of 4.5% in revenue growth between 2009 and 2013 with $4.2bn revenues in 2013. The number of hotels increased with CAGR of 4.4% in the same period. Leisure is the largest segment in the Indian Hotels and Motels industry, accounting for 71.5% value whereas the business segment accounts for 28.5% of the total industry volume.

Organization Structure
Hyatt has a hierarchical organisational structure and over the years they have focussed on maintaining this. All the decisions pertaining to the functioning of the organisation is taken by the board. Hyatt announced organizational changes designed to support Hyatt’s strategy of driving preference by providing distinctive brand experiences. The changes include the integration of the global operations structure, the formation of an integrated team to lead the Company’s select service business and the creation of a new global franchising strategy function.

The value chain consists of following major components:
1. Reservation System - Hyatt has a central reservation system that provides a comprehensive view of inventory, while allowing for local management of rates based on demand. Through this system, Hyatt allows bookings by hotels directly, via telephone through our call centres, by travel agents, and online through Hyatt.com through centralized portal
