Introduction
Human resource management in modern enterprises does not mean responsibilities only for HR Department. It is the work of the whole enterprise, especially for the senior management. Management people have to make sure that employees are armed with necessary skills to accomplish current and future works. With the existence of new technologies, new thoughts, and new management tools, many enterprises are redesigning their works. They want these works to be finished by teams instead of individuals. Therefore, managers and employees might have to exploit new skills that can help achieve success in groups. Regarding HR, there are some things to be done. Firstly, HR needs to reinforce performance assessment. To be specific, such assessment needs to relate to employees’ working performance, salary, promotion and career plan. Secondly, HR needs to help employees with their career plan. Employees need to get prepared for their jobs in the future. If employees do not work efficiently or do not carry out good performance, people say that it is because of HR’s poor recruitment or training. In fact, HRM is not only human resource department’s work. It is the whole enterprise’s work. Human resource management now is becoming a crucial part of enterprises’ core competencies.
