One reason I am disagreeing on raising the age of which you receive your license is because we need the experience. The earlier we start the more experience we are going to get. The driving program should be introduced to us sooner. Freshman and sophomore year we should have to take drivers ed, that way we are familiar with all of the precautions and dangers of the road. Also, if it is introduced to us earlier later on when it is time for us to receive these, the accident percentile may not be as high. I feel like the thought of raising the age is because of our maturity level. I personally feel like this is not going to work, teens are going to break the law and drive just as they do now. A lot of houses have a sick or disabled family member and not just one person can manage a house by themselves. In this case if there is a teenager in the house they usually have to help out and get a job of some sort. Not all parents work the dream work hours, some have the oddest hours ever. The teenagers are going to need someone to take them to their job and trust me, it’s not always the easiest trying to find a back up plan. By being able to drive, this helps teenagers take on responsibilities. Many high schoolers are involved in extracurricular programs after school and can’t always get a ride, so that’s where having a license would come in handy. Also it is very hard on single parents who have more than one kid, because if they are in any sport, it’s always somehow at the same time. If there is a teenager that is old enough to drive, they will be able to take themselves to where they needed to
