McGonagall, one of my favorites, taught me to not let what other people say affect me. While she may have been speaking to Harry Potter, the protagonist, her words spoke to me and made me feel as though she were speaking directly to me. In addition, she also taught me to be brave, and stand up for what I believe in. The books brought her to life and showed me that no matter the darkness that raged around her and the world of Hogwarts, she never once gave up her sights from the light at the end of the tunnel. It can be deduced that McGonagall wanted nothing to do with Umbridge, however, instead of getting upset and making matters worse, she chose to make a clever retort, leaving the other speechless.
