How Does Identity Affect Families

Identity plays an important factor role in our everyday lives. Identity is the set of behavioral or personal characteristics by which an individual is recognizable as a member of a group. People’s identity defines their identifications; in what they associated themselves with. Identity may be classified by many categories such as religion, race, sexuality, gender and ethnicity. Some identities are developed later in life, such as languages, wealth status and social status. The issues with identity can take place in almost any environment. Many social environments are impacted my identity, such as school. Color, Ethnicity, Hobbies, and even physical attributes play an important factor in social environments. Many children and teens are socially separated by ethnicity and color. This problem could lead is racism and other issues. Hobbies such as Orchestra, Band, Dance and sport, can also socially separate children and teens. These separations of identities can lead to many physiological conflicts in the future. Children and teen develop a close-mined perspective, as they face these identity challenges. Media is an uprising conflict with identity. Many websites such as, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and others are filled with identity issues. Many identity issues can lead to cyber bullying and even physical threats. Many factors such as race, color, beliefs, culture, and even political beliefs can influence identity. Often, certain beliefs play a great impact with social identity issues. A great example of certain beliefs, is the topic of abortion. One person may face millions of criticism on him/her beliefs on the topic of abortion.
