Benjamin O. Davis Jr. was the first African American general officer in the United States. Benjamin O. Davis Jr. was an important figure in the field of aviation because, he was brave enough to be the first black general which does take a lot of courage.

Davis Jr’s first career was being a general and commander of of the Air force in World War II. Benjamin O. Davis Jr. was famous for being the first African-American general. Benjamin O. Davis Jr. had many obstacles for him to be as famous as he was. He was the first black to be a general so it had to take a lot courage to go past the racism lines.
Benjamin O. Davis Jr. wanted to be a general and he stuck with his dream and became famous for it. Benjamin O. Davis Jr. group of black fighter pilots were the first ever group to not have a bomber shot down. He always said do never be distracted and to always stay with the bomber so excuses. He was denied multiple times for trying to be a black fighter pilot because this was in the time of segregation of whites and blacks.
