Around sixty-seven percent of the people across the country believe schools should offer only nutritious drinks, such as white milk, water, and natural fruit juice, to students. I strongly agree that adding nutritious beverages to school lunches is a logical and reasonable idea. To begin with, when products are locally sourced, the local economy around the school will also receive a boost. Also, when a parent of a school student sends their child, or children, to school, they should not have the need to worry about the things that their kid may drink.…

The National School Lunch Program provides students with “healthy” and “nutritional” meals to consume during their lunch period, however, how can a meal that needs to be unwrapped and heated be at all good for us? Most of us don’t know what exactly we are taking into our body. Many students including myself sometimes get ill from these meals. If a healthy and nutritional meal gets you sick then there is something wrong. In order for school lunches to improve we must have an alternative and that is going to our local farmers to receive fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats.…

The lunch staff is convincing students that school lunches has great food and the food quality is good .but in reality they just want you to try the food quality and some of the food is not that good after eating a couple bites and you fell sick.the reason why some students get sick is because some of the school’s suppliers can’t provide fresh product so they can have to use the stuff they had in storage (patterson, tracy). Also, school lunches is not homemade so really it…

School lunches are making an effect on students and unfortunately not a good one, this has to change and I know the perfect way to change it. I have gone to school now for about 12 years, and in those years I have come to an agreement that school lunches need to be improved. I remember wanting to go to lunch in 8th grade because the food was tasteful and pleasant, although now I realize it lacked an important aspect, the food having any nutritional value. As I got older I started to dislike the food that was given at school and I would dismiss the idea of lining up for lunch because I knew the food wasn’t going to be good.…

School lunches Every school is different, but they all have one thing in common: School lunches. Whether it’s a slice of pizza or a plate of chicken nuggets, they all serve school lunch. Usually, the food is in acceptable taste conditions for picky eaters, but when the choices of what the lunch ladies serve is limited there’s a problem. Most kids just throw away their lunch. When Michelle Obama put a limit on school food, more lunches were being thrown into the trash because students simply didn’t like the taste.…

This next and last section really ticks me off. The Huffington post posted an article on the different types of foods that are served around the world. Of course our great, happy, and healthy land of America shows of course some food being served that’s not really healthy at all. When I was growing up it was much worse than that. It make me real mad to think that our kids at schools are eating these types of lunches.…

Should Students Have The Right To Chose What They Eat For Lunch? The choice of lunch for students should not be one that is made by someone else, students should have the right to chose what they eat for lunch. A healthy lunch for a growing student is a principal component for the development and growth of a child. There are many components of growth that cannot be changed, but weight and health from choice of food can always be revised. Parents often want the best health for their kids, and sometimes physical activity is not as easy to facilitate, which is why eating healthy is exceedingly important.…

One student says “Usually we go to the student store and I'll buy a bag of Cheetos...or like chips, sometimes a Gatorade, yeah" when asked what they will do when the school lunch doesn’t fill them up enough. This is a problem that is hard to deal with, because having bags of snacks that students can munch on sort of goes back on the whole idea of “healthy lunches” and has the student spending money on top of their bought lunch just to get filled up for the rest of the day. Giving students a healthy option is ideal, but having them eat something that tastes bad and won’t even fill them up doesn’t seem right. There are some arguments that some people can make as to why healthy school lunches are extremely important and why they mustn’t change.…

When asked about the cost of school lunch, any growing family with little ones in school will most likely express that they feel that school lunches are overpriced and have little nutritional value for our children. According to Lewiston, Maine school district, on average a week of elementary school lunches costs roughly eleven dollars and for intermediate and high school students it is approximately twelve dollars a week. According to Orange County public school district, on average a week of elementary school lunches costs approximately nine dollars and for middle school and high school students at Orange County its thirteen dollars roughly. While reviewing these results I noticed that breakfast was cheaper than the lunch programs. The average breakfast costs roughly two-four more dollars cheaper per…
