My heart will decide what is right and wrong not a higher power or someone else. I determine what is considered valuable. If I want something I simply get it. Without thinking of the harm done to others in the process. I am my own God. Heartland Masters Commission Director Adam Haugen always say’s, “Your mind will justify what your heart wants.” No matter how hurtful it may be to others around me. Since my heart is number one my mind will justify my decisions. That is the thought process behind someone who would call themselves an Individualist. I chose the topic of Individualism, because it has had a great effect in my life and the lives of many people in this Country. It changes the dynamics of churches, it destroys God type visions for churches if selfish Christians maybe don’t want to step out of their comfort zones. You should always look back and see if their is something that you did unknowingly that affected the people around you. That is why Individualism is the most dangerous. It can be something that you do regularly without even knowing what you are doing. There are a significant number of verses that combat the thoughts of Individualism.
Philippians 2:3-4 “Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.”
This verse perfectly describes what you should do. It almost exactly contradicts the definition of individualism. Don’t do things that are for you always remember to be a servant.
