Your words are spiritually uplifting. Notably, through faith and the love of Christ, you express the love, compassion, and honesty you have for your wife, family, and friends. It is clear that God is the head and leader in your household and the center of your life. Understandably, it is a work in progress, it shows that God is working and blessing you with the spirit of hearing. God is pouring his blessings onto you because you are a willing participant and believe that in Christ all things are possible. In John 8:47, the Bible teaches, “Whoever is of God hears the words of God…” (New International Version). I am happy and encouraged to see a brother in Christ experience spiritual growth and maturity. In this week’s chapter reading

Give examples of how the practice of ministry has affected your experience and understanding of A) God At the core of my understanding of God is a God of love in covenantal relationship with God’s children. Romans 8:38-39 says it well; “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” The practice of ministry has only proven to strengthen that belief. I was called early Saturday morning to sit with a family who had just learned of the death of their daughter/granddaughter in a vehicle accident.…

    Sidra Zimmerman Ministry Project

The People and the Situation As was first mentioned in my ministry group project proposal, the group I chose was my own small group. When the project first started, it consisted of roughly 10 men and women, most members of my Southern Baptist church who meet weekly to suss through the week’s sermon together. Interestingly enough, most of us had been raised in some semblance of a Christian home, though our experience within that “Christian” community varied.…

Leadership on the line by Ronald A. Heifetz and Marty Linksys is a very timely book. Maggie’s description of her Indian community and the effects of alcohol made me think of many urban communities and the pain that lurks in those communities. The stories she shares about Lois and the heart she had for her community and desire to make it better make you think we need more leaders like that. Lois leadership inspired me because she saw something wrong in her community she believed she could bring change. Lois is a good picture of servanthood she doesn’t sit and think someone should so something…

Introduction Knowing God is a influential evangelical book by James Innell Packer and holds to be the authors best-known work. Packer was an Oxford graduate who was influenced greatly by another famous Christian author, C. S. God made me realize that the more of a relationship I have with him, the more I will understand the hardships of life. “We as Christians need a foundation of prior deliberative theological reflection to prepare us as best as possible for dozens of daily choices as well as the life-altering decisions we face” (128). I couldn’t agree more with the author about finding the spirit through theology. I think it is valuable for every Christian to learn more about theology to help them understand the true meaning of why God does…
