In Germany the GDP that is spent on health care is 3.853 trillion and in comparison to the United States, the U.S. was a lot higher averaging at 17.42 trillion dollars (Data The World Bank). Some other things that I found by Data The World Bank website is that the average life expectancy for Germany is around 81 years old and for the U.S it is around 79. What I find interesting about this is that even though the United States spends more on health care then Germany does the life expectancy is shorter. Life expectancy at Birth was 81% in Germany and in the United States it was 79% (Data The World Bank). Again that is interesting because the United States spend more on health care. When looking at the diseases aspect of how healthy both countries are the percentage of the population that have either type 1 or type 2 diabetes for Germany is 7.9% and for the U.S it is 9.4% (The world Bank). Digging further into the site I found more information that showed that Germany’s population is healthier than the U.S. The infant mortality rate for every 1,000 babies that are born in Germany is 3% and 6% in the U.S. According to Data The World bank, Germany’s health care, 91% of their population’s death is caused by non-communicable disease and in the United States only 88%. Even though in a lot of the disease statistics does Germany have lower numbers than the United States and spend less on health care, Germanys percentage of the population that is spending out of pocket is 55.6% and in the United States only 22.3% are paying out of pocket ( Data The World Bank). These statics that I found on The World Bank was very interest and really helped with my opinion of which country has the better health
