To start off, getting a college education is worth it because it will benefit you in many ways. College graduates “ with a bachelor's degree for example, earned about 415 dollars more a week than workers whose highest level of education is a high school diploma” (“ New school year:old story: education pays” 63). Even though having higher education opens many doors, sometimes having all those doors does not mean that everything will turn out how you want it to. Also “....at 2.4 percent, unemployment rate for workers with a professional degree was also the lowest if any education” (“ New school year:old story: education pays” 63). This is one of the main reasons people feel that college is not worth it. Nothing is certain in life, everything comes with risks. At least with a college degree you eliminate some of those risks.
All in all, pursuing a college education will open many doors for you in life, and increase pay. Not receiving a college degree puts you at a disadvantage and can cause you to miss out on several opportunities.
