Countries in the past have gone to war mainly because there was no other option. When a leader of a country forces action on another, it causes war to become the inevitable. Of all America’s wars, World War II is the only war to attain massive approval from the public (Wittner). The start of Americas war began on the seventh of December 1941. The attack on Pearl Harbor took place, claiming more than 2,500 American lives (“Facts”). America could no longer stay a neutral country and had the majority vote of the public to declare war against its opponents. This takes us back to my previous statement of forcing a war. Japan being the aggressor took it upon themselves to pull a direct attack on a nation that had no involvement during the war. America, having lost many of its citizens could simply not back down to such acts. It would be considered great cowardice to remain a pacifist after enduring great loss. The American public support was a huge factor in the push for victory during World War II. In just two years, the industrialized nation was able to rebuild most of what it lost from the attack on Pearl Harbor. In other words, World War II brought unity to America to focus on one goal,
