At the time of the play, women were portrayed as fragile and soft, but the portrayal of Lady Macbeth changed all of that. It finally gave women a view point of being the dominant and Shakespeare had gotten criticized from his audience. As Lady Macbeth motivates her husband to murder King Duncan, she shows characteristics of masculinity. If this were to happen today, people wouldn't really question it because of the portrayal of women has changed so much. Lady Macbeth also had the dominant role in her marriage because she ruled Macbeth.
Gender stereotypes have changed so drastically over time. In the 21st Century, women can be independent and they don’t have to depend on men. Back in the day they were to depend on men and they were to only get married, have kids, and stay at home. Today we have changed because it’s not like that anymore, Women are equal to men and can do anything they feel like doing.
There are many modern-day examples that people have made to up gender equality. Basketball in the NBA are using their platforms not for just business but to get their standpoint of equality. Movie makers may heavily influence the production of a movie to push the idea of equality. Wonder Women fought many gender norms and the media had heavily influenced the idea of what it was trying to portray. Recently, the release of Black Panther sent the world into a craze. The movies were trying to push the idea of equality.
