Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Born January 15, 1929 In Atlanta Georgia, Dr. King was originally given the name Michael King Jr. He later took the name Martin Luther after his father did from a German protestant religious leader (King, M. L. Jr. 2015). King was a depressed boy who tried committing suicide at the age of 12 after his grandmother died. While growing up King was never into religion, as it worried and bothered him; however, he soon realized that the ministry was his calling.
