Freddie Nagel's Short Story Essay: The Adventure Of Life

In a rural town located in southern Louisiana, lived a quiet family, on a remote road that went deep into the thick wilderness. There was two kids, Freddie Nagel who is 9 and Drew Nagel who is 13. The Nagel family has been trying to plan a vacation for over three months, but always had something in the way. Until now when they can finally go on their vacation, they realize that it was a mistake. The day started off wrong when Freddie dyed the laundry pink. Freddie hasn’t always been the brightest. He was a barely passing student, with shaggy brown hair and hazel eyes. Freddie didn’t care much for sports, he played video games, and he was into cars. “What happened to your knee?”
“I tripped over a root while collecting firewood.” Drew just chuckled at Freddie, still looking for his phone.
“I found it, I found my phone!” Said Drew. Once he found his phone, Freddie and Drew set up a fire and had some dinner. The two brothers both tired and exhausted went to bed and rested for tomorrow's adventure.
“Rise and shine Fred, time to go on an adventure.”
“Where are we going?” Asked Fred.
“Home, one night in the woods was good enough, and i’m hungry.” The two brothers packed up and headed for home. When they arrived at their house, they were alarmed to see dozens of cops searching the backyard and going in and out of the house.
“What’s going on?” Freddie asked hesitantly. A police officer approached the two them.
“Are you Freddie and Drew Nagel?”
“Yes, who are you?” asked Drew.
“I am detective White” said the officer.
“It appears to be that there was a murder here, I am sorry, but both of your parents are dead. I am greatly sorry for your loss.” The two brothers just looked at one another astonished.
“Do you know who it was?”
“How did this even happen?” Freddie shot
