Millions of passionate fans follow two ball sports, football and soccer. Even though these two sports are very popular and are enjoyed by many, there is numerous reasons why soccer is better, for example, football is more dangerous than soccer. More padding is required for football than for soccer. Although it is possible to come in contact with other players during soccer, there are more contact between the players during football. Both Football and Soccer carry a high risk of getting severely injured, but football is more dangerous than soccer. “In 2011, the Bleacher Report ranked soccer in sixth place in the top 10 most dangerous sports. On the other hand, the only padding that is required to be worn by soccer players are shin guards. Soccer is a more prevalent across the globe because not much equipment is needed to play it. Clearly, it is much easier to perform in a game of soccer with less padding that makes you feel heavy. Legally, Football is a sport where making contact with your opponent is a way of leading your team to victory. The tackles that are made in football, is performed with extreme aggression. Running into each player to try and take them out is the only way of stopping that person from scoring. However, tackles that are legal in football would constitute a foul in soccer. Therefore, soccer is considered as a non contact sport. In conclusion, there are many reasons why soccer is better than football. While it is possible to be seriously injured in a game of soccer, your risk of having life-threatening injuries is much lower than in football. Soccer does not require as much padding as football does. Finally, soccer is a much gentler sport than football is. For these reasons, soccer is a preferable sport throughout the world than football
