According to the beginning chapters of Fish In A Tree, have learned that Ally is extremely stubborn in the very beginning of the book. I learned this through her actions, choices, and behavior. Ally went through some tough moments and decisions throughout the book. Ally gives Mrs.Hall a sympathy card, not a baby card because she cannot read, Shay makes fun of her, Keisha stands up for her and Mrs.Sliver takes her out in the hallway, but Ally still did not know what is happening. Ally writes “why why why” all over her paper when she was supposed to write about herself. Mr. Daniels noticed something going on and wants to find out. Because of her braveness, Ally is determined to show her friends that she has the courage to stand up for herself and her family. Ally makes the brave decision to stay after school with Mr. Daniels to work on improving her reading and writing abilities. She gains the courage and confidence to stand up for who she is and the challenges she has to accept. She finally tells her friends that she has dyslexia. It was hard, but she was brave in facing her fears. This brought her closer to her friends and they were willing to stand up for her and help
