The respondent was shown a series of ten pictures that contained an abstract ink blot and were asked what they could see within it. This type of surveying was successful when collecting data from the respondents because most respondents volunteered to participate rather than the surveyor searching for a subject and gaining no response. Ten out of the fourteen respondents volunteered to take the survey without the surveyor asking them. This could show that their responses were genuine because of their enthusiasm to take the test.
