Fate In Romeo And Juliet

Fate, by definition this means something that is destined to happen. The main theme in Romeo and Juliet is fate because in the opening prologue there is a mention of fate between the two families who are feuding and romeo mentioning that he has a bad feeling about attending the ball. Fate is shown throughout the play Romeo and Juliet. This is shown when Romeo and Juliet meet, before Romeo had said that he had a bad feeling about something that was going to happen the night that they met. Romeo and Juliet seem to show fate because it seems like their deaths are marked. The role of fate is turned against Romeo and Juliet and they have no control over what happens to them when they are together. Star-crossed means ill fated, or unlucky. “A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life” (Prologue. 6).
