English CP 12 Samandar Khaydarov April 18, 2024 Essay Bill of Rights is a document that was created by James Madison in 1791. It's the foundation of American democracy. It is still in effect and has been protecting the people’s liberties and their rights to this day. The one most important purpose of this document is to limit government power over people by protecting people’s liberty. In this document, there are lots of examples of ethos and all of them prove its credibility to guarantee protection of people’s liberty. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." …show more content…
Moving on from the first amendment that established the most basic rights of people, there is a second amendment that further reinforces the credibility of the Bill of Rights. "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." Second Amendment.2nd amendment contributes to ethos by stating the importance of people’s security.This also proves the credibility of the government to protect its people. The purpose of the bill was to show the government's commitment to protecting its people’s liberty. This also aligns with limiting government power over the people. Even though there are a lot of examples of ethos in the Bill of Rights, there are also examples of logos that are further reinforced by ethos. An example of logos can be seen in the preamble because it lays out the purposes of creating a Bill of Rights by appealing to an audience which is the people of the
