What they really mean is, “nothing is ever enough and I have failed if I do not attain a certain amount of wealth”. I do not live by this philosophy. I recognize the importance of wealth for without it I would not live the life I lead today. However, many have been led astray and have begun to think that the American dream represents wealth. The fact that I am in college and have been able to go to school for 15 years is the American dream. I am working towards paying for my education, which will enable me to gain a better life. This is the American dream. Whenever I am hungry or thirsty I do not have to worry about how or when I will eat and drink. Whenever I need a visit to the doctor’s office I can do so. I can travel to different parts of the country when necessary and for leisure. When I wanted to know more about Buddhism in order to practice the faith I was able to do so. Even with the vast amount of police brutality inflicted upon African Americans I have never personally felt a fear of my country. When I decided to start my own blog at the beginning of 2015 I did not worry about censoring certain topics or ideas because my government would try to find and kill me for them. I live a comfortable and enjoyable life due to my status as an American, and although I may face challenges I will always have that
