31 January 2017 Abstract
(Please be a little nice on my abstract. I typically write abstracts at the end of my paper, but my abstract has never been a strong suit of mine; so, I wrote this one in the most basic form possible. If you have some help with writing abstracts, that would be so appreciated!)
Asians face harsh discrimination in American society without much awareness. In this research paper, I will be going over the history of American racism, 21st century stereotypes and difficulties, and lastly, the possible theory for solving racism as a whole. Immigrants seeking religious freedom, human rights, and the dreams of free enterprise created the backbone of the country. Yet, over the generations of shaping the Americas, racism became evermore serious. Wars and riots formed around racial discrimination, but not even the deaths of thousands has settled down the everyday stereotyping of other ethnicities. One ethnic group is one of the largest in the worlds, but faces difficulties everyday in a country of freedom-- Asians.
[Working Thesis] Upgraded from a “despised minority”, Asians face less difficulty than the past but reveal the complicated roles of racism in America. Racisms invades the lives of Asian American in not only their social lives but as well in their careers. The core of society can be changed through the understanding of the new generation and with the proper ideals on race.
Statement of Qualifications
One day when I was heading to school, I checked my Facebook like most teenagers. Within my feed was a repost from Twitter and the post wrote that an Asian kid failed an Algebra test so the narrator was going to fail. It isn’t uncommon for many Americans to laugh, for we laugh at stereotype jests aimed at us. However, I think some of the stereotypes hanging around Asians can be harsh and almost a little too much with little people to support
