Historian, James Truslow Adams, has been credited as the creator of the idea known as the
American Dream. This American Dream has since then further evolved into the idea that every
United States citizen should have an equal opportunity to succeed and prosper through hard work and drive. Not all people are given an equal chance to share in this American Dream because of society’s classification of people into subgroups based off the color of their skin, economic status, and the gender they identify themselves with.
