The Holocaust in Germany began January 30,1933 and lasted twelve years till May 8,1945. It was a mass genocide which killed approximately six million jews. During this time Adolf Hitler made Germans believe that they were racially superior and that Jews were a threat to the German community. Jews were not the only ones persecuted communists, socialists, Jehovah’s Witnesses and homosexuals were also persecuted based on their political and ideological differences. Some teens believe that because of their young age and inability to be independent that they are unable to stand up for those in need. The simple act of raising our voices and informing others can also contribute to our responsibility as an individual.
