Pyramids of Egypt What were the Pyramids of Egypt :
The Pyramids of Egypt are one of the most inspred creations of man. They were built as tombs to the pharoahs and their queens. The Egyptians believed in life after death and so for the pharoahs to safely join the afterlife their bodies were to be protected. The aim of the builders of the pyramids was to create a structure that could withstand time and it's consequences and last forever.
The King of Egypt wes thought to hold some valuable position between human and divine. Even after his death, he was believed to become Osiris, god of the dead.The pharoah who replaced the old one wad given the title of Horus .
138 pyramids had been discovered till 2008. The oldest of thes pyramids is the Pyramid of Djoser which was built during the third dynasty. One of the most prominent of the pyramids are the Pyramids of Giza. . It is believed the pyramid was built as a tomb for Fourth Dynasty Egyptian pharaoh Khufu and was constructed over a 20-year period. Built in a span of 85 years ,2589 and 2504 BC. the Pyramid of Giza hold a significance importance as it is the oldest of the Seven wonders of the world and the only one still remaining unscathed. …show more content…
