According to economic and development condition, it is widely known that the countries of this world has been divided into sections like- first world countries, second world countries and third world countries (unofficial now). In spite of many differences, many countries from the different sections have one thing in common- influenced by colonialism. It is important to mention here that, also slave trade itself became a great business of the “golden” period of colonization. For instance, if we take sugar trade, they needed a lot of human resources. After a period they developed the technology and build machines and started the industrialization with the benefits they got from the previous business. Most of these Industries they made in their homeland. The strategy was to use the capital from the colonies, sometimes free of cost, and sometimes in a very cheap rate and then to manufacture products in their motherland. And After that to sell those products in relatively high rate to the colonies (Understanding Colonialism, 67). Indian subcontinent and Indigo is a good example in this case. British colonizer forcibly made the farmers in India to cultivate indigo in their lands and then they took the indigo from the farmers in very cheap rates. Then the British supplied the indigo to their homeland, the then Britain, and there they made Jeans (a kind of cloth) and then exported them back to India and sold them at a very high price. Again, sometimes the same expert says about the two sides of this coin- “colonization”. Among them, Bauer says that the effect is positive in case of American continent at the same time states the bad sides in case of African continent (not applicable for all countries) ( Understanding Colonialism, 72). However, through the colonization experience the ideas about trades and commerce and spread quickly and till date we are consuming the facilities, but it is also true that because of this system many richer countries became poorer (Indian Subcontinent, Africa).
